GAME OF THRONES – Season 1 – Chapter 8 - SUMMARY

Hello, we’re Ada and Sergio, and we’re going to talk some minutes about the chapter number 8 of Game of Thrones, and after that, we’re going to do activities about it.

At King’s Landing, Sansa is taking a stroll with her Septa when they hear the sound of a fight down the hall. Then, her Septa orders her to run quickly to her room. During the way, Sansa is captured by The Hound, ordered by The Queen.

Meanwhile, Arya is practicing her swordplay with her dancing master, when Lannister guards interrupt their lesson. The soldiers demand Arya to come with them, but her dancing master defends her and orders her to run away, and then, he fights against the men using his wooden practice sword.

Ned Stark sits in the dungeons, and Varys comes to visit him and to say him that everybody died in the Stark house. Varys also says to Ned that his mercy killed the King, not the wine or the wild boar, and that Tyrion Lannister has escaped.

The Queen and her council convince Sansa to write a letter to her mother and to her brother Robb, and she asks what may happen to her father, and The Queen says that, it depends.

Jon Snow gets news from Ned’s arrest, but he has to defend The Wall. During the night, the Jon’s wolf, called Ghost, hear something: is a White Walker zombie. Finally, Jon Snow burns him.

Robb Stark is informed that his father is arrested and he’s called to King’s Landing, where he will go with his army.

Tyron and Bronn are resting in the forest, when suddenly Shagga, son of Dolf, and his guards appear. Tyron promises them some things and Shagga accepts.

The Dothraki are raiding a village, but Khaleesi orders to stop to her army. They make some people prisoner and they go with Khal Drogo, where a guard of him is feeling offended by Khaleesi. Later, Khal Drogo fights against his guard, and he kills him and rips off his tongue.

In Winterfell, Robb Stark has summoned his bannermen to plan the rescue of his father.

Meanwhile at The Wall, Samwell Tarly speaks about a very old book that he read in Maester Aemon’s library, and he knows more about The White Walkers, such as that only fire will stop them or they’re very high.

Robb has assembled his army and he meets his mother. She agrees with Robb and he wants to visit The Queen. She also lays out the stakes of going to war against the Lannisters, and she says: “If you lose, your father dies. Your sisters die. We die.”

Later, Robb’s guards capture a Lannister scout, who was counting, but he decides to release him.

On the other hand, Tyrion meets his father. Tyrion goes with Bronn and the mountain men warriors that he picked up. The Tyrion’s father asks to Shagga if they want to fight with them, and they’re agree, but only if Tyrion fights with them too.

In King’s Landing, The Queen announces to the noble knight Ser Barristan that is being booted off the Kingsguard. The Queen gives him thanks, but the new King Joffrey accuses him of let his father die. Then, Ser Barristan throws off his armor and then pulls and throws his sword down.

After that, Sansa does a petition for her father’s life. Joffrey answers angrily that her father said that he wasn’t a king, and Sansa says that he was badly hurt and he drank milk of the poppy and he wasn’t himself. She also says that if he has any affection in his heart for her, he has to comply her desire. Joffrey thinks about it, and finally he says: “Your father has to confess and say that I am the King. Or there will be no mercy for him.”

Now, we’re going to do the activities… ¿any victim?
